Printing

Screen Printing

Great for
Large quantities, oversize print areas, specialty inks, bold prints.

Process
The stencil of your graphic is printed onto a screen, and ink is then pushed through the mesh to transfer your graphic onto your garment. Each color requires a separate screen, but it produces high quality prints that will hold up for a long time.

Ink Options
Plastisol, discharge, specialty inks

Plastisol vs. Discharge

What's the difference?
Plastisol ink prints on top of the garment vs Discharge actually dyes the shirt fibers.

Plastisol Ink
Printing with plastisol is the most common way to screen print. The colors are vibrant, durable, and come in a wide-range of choices. It does not interfere with the fabric’s dye or color, allowing for the application of any shade or color.

Discharge Ink
Discharge inks are a great for giving your apparel a “vintage” or “worn/aged” look. Discharge inks remove the dye of the garment and print the top color directly into it. Discharge inks are able to give you bright bold colors while keeping a soft hand-feel when produced on 100% cotton garments.

Screen Sizes

Size Guide
Print up to 22"W x 26"H

DTG Digital Printing

Great for
Photos or detailed artwork, high color designs, small quantities and on-demand orders, standard location/print sizing, 100% cotton garments.

Process
DTG works much like an office printer, except instead of printing on paper it prints directly onto fabric with waterbased ink. Because there are not the set up costs associated with screen printing, it can save you money if you are doing a small batch of garments with high color artwork.

Ink Options
Waterbased

Digital Squeegee

Great for
Album covers, photorealistic graphics

Process
A digital CMYK image is printed on top of a screen printed underbase, combining the digital photorealistic quality with the speed and feel of screen printing (plus the ability to incorporate specialty inks!)

Ink Options
Discharge base with digital top print. Option to add specialty inks.

Specialty Inks

Crystalina

Crystalina is a medium flake size sparkle plastisol, commonly used as a transparent 2nd layer on top of other colors to add a glittery effect.

Metallic

This ink is a little more subtle than foil but still adds a nice shine to give a sleek look to your logo.

Shimmer

Add a touch of glitter to illuminate your design.

Puff

An expanding ink that comes in plastisol or water-based and gives your design dimensions with a curved edge. Best for full areas without small details.

Gel

Gives your logo or design a layer of gloss or shine. Good for artwork including water drips, black letters for a rubbery shine look, or highlights to certain areas of your artwork.

High Density

Like puff, only with HD. This ink allows for tight lines and small details. It holds a fine edge and best when stacked with multiple layers.

Reflective

Available in water-based, plastisol, or transfer method. When light is shined at the ink, the tiny glass-like beads reflect the light back.

UV Ink

Invisible until activated by sunlight and the design reveals itself.

Glow in the Dark

Illuminate your design with glow ink that is sure to stand out.

Embroidery

Embroidery

Great for
Customizing garments that cannot be screen printed like hats, jackets, and polos.

Process
The artwork or logo has to be "digitized" which is the specialized process of converting 2D artwork into stitches or threads. The thread colors are loaded into machines, and the machine is programmed to sew the design.

Thread Types
Standard, puff, metallic, glow.

Patches

Patches & Applique

Great for
Artwork with a large surface area of colors. Instead of thousands of stitches to fill in a solid object, patches & applique cut down on costly stitch count and reduce the pull on a garment.

Process
With Applique, a flat piece of fabric is shaped to the design and stitched along the edges. With Custom Patches, your artwork is either embroidered or printed as a patch which is then adhered to the garment.

Patch Types
50 Damask Denier, Embroidered, Sublimated, PVC, Leather, Applique.

Sublimation

Sublimation Cut & Sew

Great for
Photos, high color artwork, all over prints/patterns, athletic wear, home goods & accessories.

Process
When heated, sublimation ink turns into a solid gas that embeds itself into the fibers of polyester fabric. When it cools, it returns back to a solid and becomes a permanent part of the fabric. The transferred design adds no additional layer on top, resulting in a comfortable and seamless print.

Sublimation Fabrics
100% Polyester yields best and brightest results. Poly Cotton, Poly Spandex, Microfiber Polyester, and Polyester Fleece are also all options depending on product and intended use.

Transfers

Transfers

Great for
Garments like bomber jackets, activewear, and materials you may not be able to directly print on. Also good for making areas of your artwork pop with additions like rhinestones or foil.

Process
Most transfers are adhered using a heat press to seal the design on the garment.

Transfer Types
Nylon, Flock, Rhinestones, Nailheads, HD, Foil, Reflective, Sublimated Twill
