WHAT IS VECTOR ART?

In the most purest form, vector art is art made up of points, lines and curves that are represented by mathematical equations as opposed to mapped pixels like in a raster or bitmap file. Vector art is resolution independent, which means that it can be scaled to any size and still retain its sharpness and detail without loss in quality.

WHAT IS YOUR LARGEST PRINT SIZE?

Our largest print area is 20 x 28, and we can print in multiple positions for more coverage. We have the capability of all over printing as long as there is no aligning of the different positions.

WHAT DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?

Many of today's t-shirt designs have a vintage or soft-hand feel. Discharge printing feels as if it's embedded and part of the fabric unlike regular, plastisol printing that has a plastic or vinyl feel to it. Discharge ink is also much harder to control than plastisol printing, and it requires special steps to be taken to make sure production runs smoothly. Our operators are all experienced in solving these issues and limiting down time. Though discharge ink's transparent nature helps it attain a soft hand, it limits its usefulness on dark, colored garments.

WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO SUBMIT ORDERS?

The easiest way to submit orders is via Tech Pack. You can download our Culture Studio's Tech Pack as well as order request forms and then email the order to sales@culturestudio.net. You can also submit orders through our Upload section under the artwork guidelines button.

WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM ORDER?

We recommend doing at least 24 pieces. This is where you'll see the first significant price break.

WHAT IS THE TURN AROUND TIME FROM ORDER TO DELIVERY?

The turn around time is approximately 10 business days from the time of deposit.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We accept any forms of credit card as well as check or cash.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT BEFORE THE GARMENTS ARE ORDERED?

We will require 50% of the total order to be paid before garments are ordered.

Changing garments after an order has been approved is subject to a 15% restocking fee from the raw goods vendor.

We are located at 1151 W. 40th in Chicago's Industrial Stock Yards. The nearest, large intersection is 40th and Morgan.

DO YOU OFFER PANTONE® (PMS) COLOR MATCHING?

Culture Studio utilizes a PANTONE® licensed ink mixing system to simulate Pantone® colors. Ink mixing and color matching is done in-house under quality control.

DOES THIS GRAPHIC REQUIRE AN UNDER BASE?

The general rule of thumb is that any image printed on a dark substrate will require an underbase for proper image opacity. If you have any guideline_heading as to whether or not your graphics will require an under base, contact Culture Studio, we will be happy to review your graphics.

DO YOU OFFER FOLD AND POLY BAG SERVICE?

Yes, Culture Studio utilizes state of the art automated folding and bagging equipment. We stock a range of poly bag sizes to accommodate most garment types. Our standard poly bags are imprinted with an “eight language” warning label. Size stickers are adhered to the exterior of each bag.

DO YOU OFFER RE-LABELING SERVICE?

Culture Studio does offer re-labeling services, however we feel that it is more efficient and cost effective to have re-labeling services performed by your distributor/manufacturer.

DO YOU OFFER DIGITAL GARMENT PRINTING?

Culture Studio does not offer digital garment printing. Our extensive research has concluded that the available equipment on the market today does not meet our standards in imprint consistency nor our production demands and does not provide cost effectiveness to our clients.

DO YOU OFFER 4-COLOR PROCESS?

Culture Studio no longer utilizes the 4-color printing process. Instead, we use the modern Simulated Process method to produce stunning full color images on both light and dark garments. The simulated process method delivers color accuracy, clarity, opacity, and consistency beyond the typical results achieved through traditional 4-color process.

DO YOU PRINT ON HATS?

Culture Studio does not offer printing on headwear. We recommend embroidery as a method for decorating headwear.

DO YOU OFFER FOIL TRANSFER PRINTING?

Yes, Culture Studio does offer foil transfer printing. For examples of our foil transfer print work visit: www.culturestudio.net/pages/specialty-printing

HOW DO I PRICE FOIL TRANSFER PRINTING?

You price a one-color plastisol (foil adhesive) plus the foil application charge.

DO YOU CHARGE MORE FOR METALLIC INK?

Culture Studio charges a .50 cent up charge per position for all specialty inks.

ARE YOUR INKS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

Plastisol inks are innocuous when used with reasonable care. Culture Studio ethics and California State law require adherence to the highest standards of safe handling and safe disposal of plastisol inks. Plastisol ink contains no air-polluting solvents or volatile organic compounds. The manufacture, transportation, storage, use, and disposal of plastisol inks do not cause injury, illness, or environmental contamination as long as the appropriate safety and environmental protection procedures are followed. Most plastisol inks have a Health Rating of 1 (hazard - slight), a Flammability Rating of 1 (hazard - slight), a Reactivity Rating of 0 (hazard - minimal) and a Personal Protection Rating of B (wear safety glasses and gloves).

WHAT IF MY CUSTOMER DOESN'T LIKE THE PRINTING?

Culture Studio stands behind the quality of the work we produce. Our goal is to reproduce your graphic onto the garment substrate with maximum accuracy, quality, and consistency. Because the total satisfaction of the end user with the final printed product is ultimately subjective, we offer several options for producing printed samples for end user review including: speculative samples, pre-production samples, and e-press checks. Culture Studio operates under strict quality controls and documented guidelines to ensure a quality finished product, we will not be held responsible for end user subjectivity.

SPOILAGE

Culture Studio has an industry average of 3% spoilage rate, which means we are allowed 3% of accidents without fault. Spoilage happens, and sometimes is unavoidable with automated machinery. During these occasions, we do not charge the customer for those garments. If spoilage is greater than 3%, CS picks up the cost of the loss which will be applied in a discount. In the event that exact quantities are needed 1 of each size or 3% over the exact quantity is required.

I am placing 2 jobs and both are 1 color prints are they priced out together?

If the artwork changes each graphic will be treated as a separate order and priced independently.  This allows our production team to clearly separate the 2 orders and ensure that the right graphic is placed on the corresponding garments.
